Palace Modern Hotel at the Plaza - Classic King 11 - 231 sq ft

I recently tried the Palace Modern Hotel when the place I typically stay was sold out. I was pleasantly surprised at the clean, efficient accommodations - the no-host process went very smoothly. Th bed was extremely comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others. My only caveats are that it was a challenge to schlep my bags over from parking 2 blocks away (I'm 65, sometimes have trouble with Santa Fe's uneven street and sidewalk surfaces after recovering from a broken ankle, etc. - the "loading area" in front of the hotel was too clogged for my big truck.) Also - whatever the hotel uses to clean or launder sheets, etc. sent me into respiratory spasms and I almost had to go to urgent care unable to breathe. I opened the window and took an antihistamine, so I was able to stay the one night after all. Tip for parking larger vehicles - rather than the garage parking included in the room rate, I paid $12 to park overnight in the Sena parking lot on Nussbaum St. (also a little easier to schlep bags via a shortcut through the library lot.)
