Calm, soothing environment
The Palace Modern Hotel has lovely, subdued interiors that are actually more reminiscent of the adobe buildings of Santa Fe than the Spanish Colonial interiors of many local hotels. It has an “invisible service model”, so if you have a high need for someone at the front desk constantly or daily room service, it’s not for you. But we loved the come-and-go as you please and you- handle-the-small-details approach the hotel offers. The bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. The location is great, just a block off the Plaza. Overall, It was a real pleasure to stay there.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Palace Modern. The check-in and check-out process was extremely easy and efficient. Additionally, our room was very clean and quiet, The lobby and hallways are chic and cool. This is all without talking about the hotel's location - essentially in the Plaza. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

We loved the hotel and the whole experience. We'll recommend Palace Modern to friends and business associates. We especially liked the location, the easy check-in/check-out (including parking), the nice design, and the sleeping (great bed, perfect pillows, quiet room).
If you'd like any suggestions, here are two small items: (a) instructions for the Keurig machine - rather than write "Don't over-fill," perhaps be more specific, -- e.g., "Put in only 1 cup at a time." We over-filled and had to re-do it a couple of times to get a cuppa. (b) shower wall - it did not block water from spraying onto the floor. Something to look into when you do renovations in a few years....
Overall, just super!

The room was beautifully appointed and clean. Lovely decor, lamps, bedding, etc. The public areas are beautiful, and the staff online and in person were responsive and nice. Unfortunately, we felt the bathroom was problematic and scary. First, the tall curtain that had to be pulled for privacy was bulky and awkward. But we were especially disturbed by the glass door that was very difficult to see, especially if you get up at night; it was hard to distinguish where the door ended and the extension of the glass wall began. And the door opened too close to the bed for all the maneuvering, making it feel quite cramped.
